If you’re familiar with my tumblr, you probably know that I’ve been going to see LOTS of bands over the last few months.  In fact, many of my friends still refer to the month of March as “Janetpalooza” (which makes sense because my name is Janet).  I took lots of videos and tried to write a bit about my show-going experience.

Anyway, as time has passed and I’ve added more and more things to my tumblr, I realized that it was kind of hard to find those snippets of shows.  For example, I know Paint Fumes are coming back through town before long.  And I‘m pretty sure that I recorded some video when they played here, but darned if I remember what day that was offhand.

And if I type “paint fumes” in the “search tags” section of tumblr, it searches ALL of tumblr.  Not just MY tumblr.  So I’m likely to get results related to actual painting and probably some DIY tips instead of the video I want.

BUT today I learned how to search WITHIN my own tumblr.  Just type the blog address followed by “/tagged” and then /whatever_you’re_looking_for.  So for my search, I typed:  galaxygirlradio.tumblr.com/tagged/paint_fumes and it took me right to the video I was looking for.

So, long story short, if you’re an RVA band and you wonder if there’s any video of your performances from the last few months, try searching my tumblr and filling in your own band name at the end.  Cheers.  I hope this helps with your tumblr searching!

26 May 2012 - Heavy Midgets & Navi at Cellar Door

The Gallery 5 show ended much earlier than I had imagined (about midnight), so I just sort of stood there confused for a minute.  Then my friends Robert & Alison said, “Hey, are you going to the show Cellar Door?  It’s already started, but there’s probably at least 1 band left to play.”  Hmmm… I wasn’t aware of this show, and hadn’t PLANNED on a second show… but Cellar Door was quite literally between my current location of Gallery 5 and my eventual destination of home.  So I figured it couldn’t hurt to swing by.

Post Paint (from Australia) and Lorem Ipsum had already performed, but there was still time to catch Heavy Midgets and Navi (who remind me a bit of early 90s RVA band Breadwinner).  So here ya go…more dark photos from Cellar Door.  Brightened them as best I could with instagram.
