music is life

The Garbers perform “What Not To Wear” at Balliceaux, 7 Feb 2013. One thing I love about Balliceaux is that the lighting is so good.  But unfortunately the sound got a little blown out on my phone so it’s kind of hard to hear the vocals.  Still worth watching though.

19 April 2012 - The Snowy Owls
Balliceaux, RVA

Please forgive the blurry image. I didn’t realize it was blurry until after the fact (I thought my eyes were just being wonky).  And the PA for the vocals fritzed out on just about every other song, so I didn’t try recording any other tracks. Better luck next time.

Quasi - “All the Same” from the 1999 album Field Studies on Up.  (There are a few weird glitches in the audio, but it’s the only version I could find online.  Hear the song in its full glory during this week’s Breakfast Blend.)

Another Richmond fave of mine.  This song makes me dance around.  The Blue Rajas - “Papyrus” from Thumbs Up Everybody For Rock and Roll!

You can find more music on their Bandcamp page: http://thebluerajas.bandcamp.com/album/thumbs-up-everybody-for-rock-and-roll

Jacques Dutronc - “Et Moi Et Moi Et Moi” - 1966 - not sure how it was originally released, but it’s currently available on the compilation Chansons de Toujours, Vol. 1 & 2, released in 2000 by EMI.
